So, here's the deal. Lately, rather say, after taking up my electronics engineering board exam which I passed should I boast (hehe! Kidding), I had this inkling to everything Korean. Food, drama, music, even their culture. Okay, so I am the person who gets easily obsessed with something but as much as I fall faster, I could easily get tired with almost anything. I've been a Korean drama addict, self confessed actually, but there were times in my life that I chose English dramas than Korean dramas. Furthermore, I am also a self confessed Harry Potter fan. That is the one thing, everyone of my friends will not argue about. I had all the book and film collections of the series. I even joined a roleplaying website called Snitchseeker (SS) where I could roleplay and interact with other Harry Potter fans. Some had been very close to me, to the point that we're adding each others in Facebook. I found a family in them.
However, circumstances could change your preferences and priorities, like when I needed to drop snitchseeker to focus more on my electronics engineering board exam review. It took me almost 5 months to prepare for that exam. My SS friends would normally message me through phone and facebook when I will be able to return and roleplay my character Erin Heyman. Of course, I gave them the date of my exam. So, they were so eager waiting for that day of my comeback. One thing, I 've been surprised is that when the time of my comeback approached, it suddenly occured to me that I wasn't enjoying it like I used to. They were still the same people but what changed isn't the site, or my friends, it was me. My likes and my wants changed. So, I decided to drop it and looked for other things that would make me happy. That's the time, I came into Korean dramas, my love was ignited once again, from day to night, I would just lay down my butt to watch korean dramas. Then I bumped into Gu Family Book.
Choi Jin Hyuk as Wol Ryung, Lee Yoo Bi as Chung Jo, Bae Suzy as Yeo Wool, Lee Seung Gi as Kang Chi,
Yoo Yeon Seok as Tae Seo and Sung Joon as Gon
It didn't strike me at first sight, might be because I have no interest towards the two leads who are Lee Seunggi and Kpop idol, Suzy of Miss A. So, once upon a time, I realized, I've already seen these two, just not that unforgettable to a typical korean lover like me. I've seen them in two of my favorite korean dramas which are My Girlfriend is a Gumiho and Dream High.
Maybe, because they weren't the center of my attention that time. Shin Min Ah and Tara's Ham Eunjung were the ones who caught my interest in those dramas. What made me stick to Gu Family Book.... is probably the ...........kiss!scene (hehe, BAD ME!) which says darn you for missing the first 17 episodes of the show. Now that it's over, I can conclude that it's been a beautiful journey. Not only the forest kiss made this show shine but also the unforgettable lines of Dam Yeo Wool, the way Ma Bong Chul(funny sidekick) speaks, the hotness of Gon-ah, the beautiful words of Admiral Lee Soon Shin and of course, the struggles of Kang Chi-yah as a half beast. There may be bumps in the road, the girl might have died (SPOILER, sorry!) but the sequel possibilities still made me happy.
Also, Gu Family Book is the one who opened the door for me to give Kpop a try. When I was in college, I would go to internet cafes and I would see fangirls watching Youtube videos of their favorite Kpop groups. I would find their acts really weird. But now that I am sufferring from the same fever like them, I can finally understand how it feels to fangirl over boygroups and be envious over girl groups. Kpop music is truthfully beautiful. Because of Suzy, I came to love Miss A and enjoying every bit of their songs and performances. Also, starting to give a try and watch other kpop performances. But as of now, let me focus on one person, root for her, because no one knows when I'll get tired of her. But really, right now I don't want to get tired of her.
Isn't she such a cutie! Oh noes, I forgot to add, I've also been recently fangirling over Jung Yong Hwa, flails!
